local people working together to solve local problems!
Creative programs, materials, and activities are
developed through the commitment and experience of our volunteers.
If you have an interest in natural resources, forestry,
environmental education, urban conservation and planning, erosion
and sediment control, economic development, recreation, grant
writing, marketing, or tourism, there is a place for you on one of
working committees.

Who We Are... What We
Believe... How We Operate...
The Hoosier Heartland Resource
Conservation and Development Council, Inc. is a unique organization that
helps people care for, conserve and protect natural resources in a way
that will improve the area's economy, environment, and living standards.
RC&D unites people in urban and rural
areas who are committed to managing and utilizing our natural resources
wisely.
RC&D provides a framework for
partnerships and alliances to develop between local citizens, governments,
and technical experts to solve resource problems.
We are A 30-member
RC&D Council made up of representatives appointed by our sponsors:

Soil and Water Conservation Districts
(SWCD)

Cooperative Extension Service Boards

County Commissioners
We accomplish our work through an
extensive network of volunteers and partnerships.

We believe our finite and valuable
natural resources must be managed and conserved for everyone's
long-term benefit.

The Hoosier Heartland RC&D provides
opportunities for citizens, businesses, Organizations, and
governments, individually or in partnership, to profitably develop and
use our natural resources, while protecting, conserving, and improving
them for future generations.

We assess local resource needs and
develop plans of action to address concerns and problems.

or citizens and government to secure needed services and assistance.

of resources through educational activities.

Planned Development: Wise land use requires the evaluation of all
natural resources-soil, water, animals, plants, air, and humans,
including potential uses.

Control: Local residents are in the best position to
identify opportunities to enhance community life.

Decision-Making: The free flow of information allows each
citizen to become involved in the decision-making process
