A group of current and potential Shrimp and Trout Farmers have established a new alliance to help in information sharing, cost sharing and marketing of shrimp and trout fresh water pond farming in South Central Indiana - reports Jim Roudebush, Director of FAN.  The President is Tim Connors of Morgan County, owner of Connors Shrimp Farm. The new alliance will be called the Shrimp and Trout Farmers Alliance of South Central Indiana and SAT for short. Join FAN's FRED Group...Great Opportunity for Rural Entrepreneurs

In early 2006, FAN started a monthly session with rural land owners who were interested in starting or improving a rural business.

One of the most important elements in for entrepreneurs or for someone who wants to start or improve a small rural business is to network or talk frequently with others who have the same interest in owning and operating their own business.  FAN Director Jim Roudebush reports, "that's why we started the FAN Rural Entrepreneur Development Group (FRED)"

FRED meets monthly at a modern office complex at 465 and West 71st Street for two hours one evening per month. The FRED members are provided information on topics such as Turning Hobbies into Businesses, Certified Organic, LLC Backgrounder, Business Plan Basics, Start Up Business Resources, Cost Management and Much More. There is also much information sharing among FRED members. Besides the commitment to attend the FRED meetings, there is no out of pocket cost to join FRED.

Contact FAN today and learn more about the FRED Group meetings or complete and send in the FRED Brochure (available in PDF format).

FAN helps rural families in starting businesses or improving existing businesses in Central Indiana to sustain rural life and augment traditional incomes. FAN works with either individual rural entrepreneurs or groups or alliances of rural business people.

* Serving the Indiana counties of Boone, Brown, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks,  Johnson, Marion, Monroe, Morgan, & Shelby.
